Digital Dangers: Confronting Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence in South Africa.

The event aimed to:

Raise awareness about the nature, signs, and impact of TFGBV among South African youth and university communities.
Educate students on legal rights, reporting mechanisms, and digital safety practices.
Facilitate dialogue between youth, experts, and institutional stakeholders. We will be expecting three speakers from our relevant offices and units namely: Counselling and Career Development Unit (CCDU), Gender Equity Office (GEO) and Student Transition and Persistence Unit (STPU).
Promote a culture of digital accountability and gender equity in online spaces.

The event was a flagship activity that incorporated a university-based seminar and panel discussion on TFGBV, with national outreach potential through recorded media. We aim to achieve this by collaborating with Wits Vuvuzela (Wits Student News outlet)
