IIEMSA Campus event - Unmute

A One Day Campus event conducted at the IIEMSA Campus:
'UNMUTE' is a dynamic and interactive workshop aimed at raising awareness about Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) among students. Through explanation of different instances of TFGBV, sharing their own experiences with TFGBV and receiving information on how to deal with TFGBV. The event was a two-hour program seeks to create safe spaces where young people can understand the issue, recognize signs, and take informed action.

    The event included a presentation that focused on:
    • Traits of victims and perpetrators of TFGBV
    • Impact on victims (Physical, mental, emotional)
    • How to protect yourself (privacy settings, reporting mechanisms, laws in place)
    • Engagement with participants through the game ‘toss and talk’ which involved participants tossing a bean bag into a number where a question related to TFGBV will be read. Based on the question, participants can either act out or explain their understanding of the TFGBV related question
    • Presentation by the campus group of important facts concerning TFGBV
